Galois, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer/Researcher to advance programming language theory and formal verification for high-assurance systems. You will apply formal methods, model checking, and theorem proving to verify software and systems against security requirements.

The role emphasizes collaboration with researchers and engineers, customer-facing discussions, and development of robust toolchains across projects in a hybrid office setup in multiple U.S. locations, including Minneapolis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent required.
• MS or PhD in CS or related field desirable but optional.
• Programming languages background and experience with formal methods required.

Responsibilities

• Requirements gathering with clients to refine needs and propose solutions.
• Architecture and design of software systems with assurance considerations in mind.
• Implementation and refinement of prototypes to finished products with robustness.
• Use formal verification tools to demonstrate security and correctness properties.
• Develop and run system, unit, and regression tests; perform semi-formal validation.
