Job summary

Paycom - ATS is seeking a Yard Person in Bethel, CT to handle, store, and move building materials. You will load/unload trucks, assist customers, manage inventory, and operate forklifts in a safe, efficient yard.

The role requires forklift certification (or ability to obtain within three months), a valid driver’s license, and strong communication in English. Typical hours are 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in lumber yard, distribution center, or warehouse; 5+ years preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain within three months.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Proficiency in basic math and measurements (tape measures).
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload trucks with accuracy.
• Move materials within yard and to storage, using hand labor or forklifts.
• Maintain an orderly, clean yard and properly store materials.
• Process warehousestock and perform inventory checks.
• Assist customers in locating and loading purchased materials.
