Job summary

Abbott in Altavista, VA is seeking a Warehouse Operator to support receiving, loading/unloading, palletizing, and shipping documentation in our Nutrition manufacturing plant. You will ensure accurate data entry, proper documentation, and safe, efficient handling of pallets and materials.

The role involves following procedures, maintaining databases, and performing duties across warehousing tasks to support production and distribution in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CDL license or ability to obtain one within 6 months is required.

Responsibilities

• Receiving Operations: Create accurate documentation, data entry, manage databases, process inbound pallets.
• Loading, Unloading, Casepicking, Barcoding and Palletizer Operations: perform tasks safely, maintain docs, follow procedures, load trailers to weight requirements, operate palletizer equipment and shuttle as needed.
• Shipping/Receiving Office Functions: maintain accurate documentation, address people professionally, ensure timely database entries, sign/dated BOLs with driver and clerk.
• Store, pick or assemble raw materials in warehouse, verify commodity number, quantity, release status and lot number; check against docs to ensure conformity.
• Clean up finished goods warehouse areas.
• All other tasks assigned by management to meet business needs.
• You'll be accountable for meeting FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

What You’ll Work On

• Receiving Operations: Create very accurate & legible documentation, perform data entry accurately, maintain all applicable databases with needed information, and efficiently process inbound pallets through the proper process
• Loading, Unloading, Casepicking, Barcoding and Palletizer Operations: Perform all tasks safely, assure accurate documentation, follow all process procedures / guidelines, assure trailers are loaded to meet weight requirements, and perform all tasks in an efficient & effective manner. This includes safely operating the palletizer equipment and shuttle wagon/switcher to meet business needs
• Shipping/Receiving Office Functions: Assure all documentation is accurate, address people in a professional manner, assure all databases are accurately maintained with timely entries, assure BOL's are signed/dated by Common Carrier Driver and the Clerk during the shift
• Store, pick or assemble raw materials in the warehouse, verifying the commodity number, quantity, release status, and lot number. Check materials against packaging lists, invoices, freight bills or other pertinent documentation to assure conformity and accuracy
• Clean up finished goods warehouse areas
• All other tasks as assigned by management to meet the needs of the business

You’ll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid CDL license or be able to obtain a CDL license within 6 months

The base pay for this position is $19.05 – $38.15 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
