Job summary

JobsRUs.com is hiring experienced Forklift, Reach Truck, and Order Picker Operators for a well-established company in Portage, Indiana.

This 1st shift position runs 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a starting pay of $18.00 per hour, and a Temp-to-Hire employment path.

You will safely operate material-handling equipment, perform safety inspections, use RF scanners and WMS to record movements, and maintain an organized, accident-free workspace.

Qualifications

• Must have forklift/reach truck certification and be able to complete on-site re-certification.
• 1–2 years of verifiable forklift/reach truck experience in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience with order-picking equipment preferred.
• Ability to work at elevated rack heights and in narrow aisles.
• Stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong spatial awareness and accuracy; good depth perception.
• Basic computer skills and RF scanner experience.
• Commitment to safety, accuracy, and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, order pickers, and other material-handling equipment.
• Navigate narrow warehouse aisles to access elevated storage racks.
• Load, unload, and move palletized materials between docks, staging areas, and storage locations.
• Use RF scanners and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to record movements and verify inventory.
• Perform daily pre-shift inspections of brakes, forks, hydraulics, batteries, and safety components.
• Follow warehouse safety procedures and company policies.
• Maintain an organized work area and handle products to prevent damage.

Position Overview

Are you ready to take the next step in your warehouse and logistics career? JobsRUs.com is seeking dependable, safety-focused operators with experience using forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and order-picking equipment.

In this role, you will safely operate specialized material-handling equipment to store, retrieve, move, and stack palletized inventory in high-bay warehouse racks. You will also load and unload shipments and perform routine equipment safety inspections.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous forklift/reach truck certification and ability to successfully complete required on-site re-certification.
• At least 1-2 years of verifiable experience operating forklifts and stand-up reach trucks in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment.
• Experience with order-picking equipment preferred.
• Ability to safely work at elevated rack heights and in narrow aisles.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, climb on and off equipment, and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Strong spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination, and depth perception.
• Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners or similar warehouse technology.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety, accuracy, and productivity.
