Job Description: The Forklift & Palate Restaurant Asst. Manager (PT) is responsible for the successful management of Spooky Nook Sports food service operations. Ensures the highest level of guest service by overseeing all aspects of service and staff during operating hours, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and meeting financial goals for sales and expenses.

The Forklift & Palate Restaurant Asst. Manager (PT) manages food service operations, oversees staff, controls costs, and ensures quality standards. This is a part-time position, paying $20-22/hour based on experience.

Essential Job Functions

  1. Manage and train staff; assign and review work; correct deficiencies to meet quality and service standards.
  2. Control costs of food and beverage outlets; assist in purchasing, monitor P&L, and manage labor costs.
  3. Assist in setup and preparation of service areas.
  4. Maximize sales through marketing, promotions, and staff training on up-selling.
  5. Monitor food quality and service standards; collaborate with Chef for improvements.
  6. Maintain safe, sanitary, and organized work areas, adhering to health and safety codes.
  7. Assist in inventory control and review opportunities to reduce costs.
  8. Ensure cash procedures are followed; handle money accurately.
  9. Communicate operational changes to staff effectively.
  10. Maintain and troubleshoot POS systems.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
  12. Hold team members accountable for attendance and performance.
  13. Apply progressive discipline when necessary, ensuring fairness.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Must be 18 or older.
  2. 1-2 years of supervisory experience in Food & Beverage.
  3. Ability to work calmly under pressure, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  4. Dependable transportation.
  5. Fluent in English, able to interpret written and verbal communication.
  6. Able to meet physical requirements with accommodations if needed.
  7. Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
  8. Authorized to work in the U.S.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. SERVSAFE certification.
  2. Knowledge of MS Office, restaurant management software, POS.
  3. Familiarity with entertainment venue operations.
  4. Understanding of P&L statements.
  5. Experience managing multiple events and working with BEOs.
  6. Strong leadership, reliability, customer service skills, and professionalism.
  7. Self-motivated, team-oriented, and detail-focused.
  8. Ability to remain calm under stress.
