Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Order Picker to read incoming orders, select the correct items from warehouse shelves, and stage them for delivery. You will operate forklifts and other heavy equipment, update inventory counts, and ensure accurate item quantities.

Qualifications

• Forklift certified (minimum 1 year).
• Experience with standard sit-down, stand-up forklifts.
• Experience using a cherry-picker forklift.

Responsibilities

• Read order notes and fulfill deliveries.
• Pick items from storage using barcodes/serials.
• Shrink-wrap items before packing for shipment.
• Operate handling equipment following safety rules.
• Load delivery vehicles.
• Update stock inventory after retrieval.
• Manage stock control including replenishment and storage.
• Perform general warehouse duties as needed.

An Order Picker, or Picker Packer, is responsible for reading incoming orders and selecting the correct items from the warehouse shelves before staging them for delivery. Their duties include operating forklifts and other heavy machinery, updating inventory counts and counting out the appropriate number of goods to fulfill and order.

Additional Duties

• Collecting order notes to fulfill deliveries
• Picking out ordered items from storage shelves or rooms using barcodes, serial numbers, etc.
• Securely shrink-wrapping items before placing them in envelopes or boxes
• Operating handling equipment according to industrial safety regulations
• Loading delivery vehicles
• Updating stock inventory after each item is retrieved
• Managing stock control, including item replenishment and storage
• Performing general warehouse duties as necessary

Minimum Requirements

• Forklift Certified (Minimum 1 year)
• Prior Experience with Standard sit-down, stand up Forklift
• Prior Experience using a cherry-picker forklift
