Job summary

The Hershey Company in Lawrence, KS is seeking a Forklift Operator/Warehouse Associate for the C crew nights. Responsibilities include staging, loading/unloading, and maintaining inventory under a 2-2-3 schedule; starting pay is $21.65 per hour with a $2 shift differential for overnight shifts.

Candidates should have prior forklift experience, HS diploma, ability to lift 50 pounds, and readiness to work in a fast-paced food-packaging environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate material handling equipment and perform safety checks prior to operating.
• Maintain food safety awareness and report issues to management.
• Receive material from vendors, customers, or other warehouses using scanners and inventory programs.
• Verify quantity, lot, and description against packing list/Bill of Lading.
• Attach identifying tags or labels to materials as needed.
• Store materials on shelves ensuring FIFO and orderly storage.
• Make inventory transactions to maintain accuracy and lot control.
• Read shipping and receiving documents, gauges, schedules, and dispatches.
• Staging of finished goods and raw materials; loading onto containers.
• Move materials safely in/out of storage.
• Check shipping documents for accuracy before copying for driver.
• Keep work area clean per MSS; provide on-the-job training.

Pay:

• Starting at$21.65/hr

Shift differential of $2/hr for overnight shifts

• $1/hr pay increaseafter 6 months of good standing employment

Shift:

• 2-2-3 schedule, every other weekend off, working 3 days one week and 4 days the next week:
• C Crew: (6 pm-6 am) One week:Sun, Wed, Thurs, and Next week: Mon, Tues, Fri, Sat)

Job Summary:

Responsible for staging, loading, and unloading finished product and raw materials as well as, stocking and maintaining warehouse inventory.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate all Material Handling Equipment and perform the necessary safety checks prior to operating
• Always maintain food safety awareness and immediately report any issues to management
• Receive material in from vendors, customers, or other warehouses accurately and promptly using scanners and inventory programs
• Verify the quantity, lot, and description of materials received by checking against the packing list and/or Bill of Lading (report/record any discrepancies)
• Perform all necessary inspections and verifications
• Correctly attach identifying tag or labels to materials as needed
• Safely and accurately place materials on shelves, in racks, or other designated storage areas to maintain the identity of preserved food, FIFO picking philosophy, and orderliness
• Make all necessary transactions within inventory programs to ensure inventory accuracy and lot control is always maintained
• Comprehend the reading of shipping & receiving documents, gauges, schedules, and dispatches
• Accurate and timely staging of finished goods and raw materials
• Accurate and timely loading of materials onto containers, trailers, vans, and/or cars
• Move materials in and out of storage safely and without damage
• Check shipping documents for accuracy prior to making copies for the driver
• Clean and maintain work area per the daily checklist and master sanitation schedule (MSS).
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees
• Other duties as assigned
