Job summary

Oak Harbor Freight Lines, Inc. in Fresno, CA is seeking Forklift Operators/Dock Workers to join our longstanding, family-owned logistics team. You will safely load and unload trailers, manage paperwork, and maintain accurate shipment counts while meeting timelines.

We value reliability, basic English, and teamwork; prior forklift or dock experience is preferred. The role includes potential to grow into a Class A driver through our training program and a path to full-time dock work.

Qualifications

• Must have basic English reading, writing and verbal skills.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Simple arithmetic for counting shipments.
• Forklift experience strongly preferred.
• Experience with dock equipment and LTL operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Safely load and unload trailers using forklifts and hand trucks.
• Record discrepancies in shipment counts or condition to minimize cargo claims.
• Verify paperwork such as delivery receipts and bills of lading for accuracy.
• Regroup shipments and maintain compliance with company reliability standards.
• Be available to work multiple shifts as needed.

Job description

Join Oak Harbor Freight Lines, a family-owned transportation company with over 110 years of service throughout the Western United States. We're seeking Forklift Operators/Dock Workers who are ready to build a long-term career with a company known for stability, teamwork, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:

• Safely load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks within specified timelines.
• Responsible for noting and recording exception in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
• Management of paperwork: i.e., check of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests, counting freight, accuracy of hazardous material shipments, special loading, and handling instructions.
• Responsible for regrouping shipments as needed.
• Ability to meet the Company's reliability standard for employees.
• Availability to work various shifts during the week to accommodate business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing and verbal) is required.
• Simple arithmetic, weight and/or measuring is required.
• A High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Previous warehouse or like experience strongly preferred.
• Forklift experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience using tools, machines, and special equipment: hand truck, four-wheel dock cart, pallet jack, barrel truck, dock plates, load locks and/or rope is preferred.
• Experience in an LTL operation preferred.
