Job summary

Basalite Building Products, LLC is seeking a forklift operator to support yard, plant, dispatch and customer service teams. You will manage block product inventory, assist with production placement, and ensure safety and quality standards in daily operations.

The role requires basic math, reading and writing skills, forklift certification, and reliable attendance. You will work outdoors in a loud, dusty environment with PPE and storms in Colorado Springs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years' forklift experience, loading/unloading.
• On-the-job training to become forklift certified by Basalite.
• Working knowledge of forklift use and maintenance.
• Knowledge of Safety rules, regulations and procedures.
• Ability to listen and follow directions.
• Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
• Ability to shovel and do general clean up duties.
• Predicable and Regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

• Learn and know names of block product including sizes and color details.
• Recognize block product quality (good/bad).
• Learn cubing patterns and pallet quantities.
• Learn and operate cuber, splitter and depalleter.
• Assist with operating equipment safely; report problems.
• Change wrap on wrappers; follow Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
• Know yard areas and stocking placement.
• Understand pallet tags and placements.
• Keep production moving off the line.
• Complete Basalite reports.
