Job summary

Leonard Buildings and Truck Accessories, based in Mount Airy, NC, is seeking a Material Handler to operate forklifts and move shed components and truck accessories within the distribution center. You will ensure safe, efficient material flow and support production schedules, reporting to the Warehouse Manager.

Ideal candidates will have forklift certification, warehouse experience, and a commitment to safety and accuracy in inventory control.

Responsibilities

• Operates forklifts in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to safety protocols.
• Moves and stacks materials using the forklift within the warehouse/production area.
• Loads and unloads materials from trucks or storage areas, ensuring proper stacking and securing.
• Maintains accurate inventory records by tracking material movement and reporting discrepancies.
• Conducts visual inspections of materials transported and reports damages or issues.
• Works with warehouse and production teams to ensure timely material movement for production schedules.
• Inspects forklifts regularly and reports maintenance needs.
• Follows SOPs for forklift operation and material handling.
• Promotes workplace safety and reports hazards promptly.
• Implements safety programs and conducts driver training to minimize accidents.
