Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Temp to Hire Material Handler in Burlington, NC for a role with weekly pay and a clear path to a lasting career in our distribution network.

As a Warehouse Associate you will read and follow WMS instructions, operate a stand-up forklift, pull and stage orders, and ensure accuracy with a strong emphasis on safety on every shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of two years related warehouse and powered industrial lift experience required.
• Ability to read, do basic mathematics, understand and respond to written and verbal instructions in English for safety and processes.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to input data into computer system.
• Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read, interpret, and apply Warehouse Management System (WMS) order instructions.
• Recognize and correct potential process errors before actions affect the customer.
• Recognize damaged product and take appropriate action when discovered.
• Pull orders accurately as assigned.
• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify pallets/locations.
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation with product accountability.
• Follow location and work center safety and security policies.
• May train others and operate powered industrial lift equipment; perform housekeeping duties.
• Operate forklift equipment or other warehouse machinery.

Warehouse Forklift Operator / Driver Positions Pay Weekly

• Hourly Pay: $16.00 per hour
• Shift Pay: $1.00 per hour
• Schedule: Second Shift Monday - Friday 5:00 PM - 1:30 AM

• Stage orders according to carrier location and verify: number of pallets picked as well as stage location
• Prepare receiving, storage and shipping documentation retaining product accountability throughout the logistical process
• Be aware of and follow location and work center Safety and Security policies and procedures
• May be required to train others in various warehouse functions, including the safe operation of various powered industrial lift equipmen, perform housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned
• Operate fork-lift equipment or other warehouse machinery
