Forklift Operator VBC - Packout line 2 - (DS) (Finance)

Purpose of the Position

To transfer products using an industrial forklift, hand lift, or pallet jack in a manner that complies with safety procedures, company, and USDA requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Store and move products using a forklift, hand lift, or pallet jack.
2. Operate electronic or manual pallet jacks between departments, buildings, and grounds.
3. Collect and deliver materials as directed, adhering to safety procedures.
4. Deliver materials to work areas, stack materials, and load/unload shipments.
5. Ensure products or equipment are undamaged and handled safely.
6. Perform routine equipment maintenance such as battery charging, changing, and tire checks.
7. Report mechanical issues or damages to the supervisor.
8. Detect and report defective materials or unsafe conditions.
9. Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment.
10. Perform safety inspections of machinery before use.
11. Load and unload trucks, consolidate pallets.
12. Assist with inventory management and record keeping.
13. Keep the dock area organized for efficient workflow.
14. Complete and submit daily and weekly reports to the supervisor.
15. Participate actively as a team member, supporting organizational policies and practices.
16. Familiarize with Simmons operating systems and support their objectives.
17. Perform other duties as needed to support business objectives.

Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to shoulder level.

Personal Protective Equipment: Waterproof gloves, hearing protection, chemical-resistant apron and gloves, face shield, reinforced toe footwear.

Travel: Not applicable.

Technical Experience: Ability to obtain and maintain forklift and pallet jack licenses.

Industry Experience: Preference for experience in poultry or food processing industries.

Minimum Education: Not applicable.

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED.
