Job description

Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Swing Shift Forklift Operator to join our team.

This is an entry level position that will move into the Boiler-Kiln Apprenticeship program. The selected candidate will advance through the Boiler-Kiln work up steps, attend the required training and accrue the required hours in the program before reaching the top level.

You’ll be a great fit if you can:

  • Conduct required pre-operating checks on forklift, prior to use.
  • Consistently keep a production level of work pace.
  • Operate a forklift to load and unload kilns, change kilns, and dump hopper.
  • Safety-conscious by following protocols and reporting hazards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Be adaptable, curious, and committed to learning and growing.

To be considered you will need:

  • A High school diploma or GED.
  • A Forklift Certification
  • The ability to communicate effectively.
  • The ability to work in a team environment.
  • To adapt to various weather conditions, loud conditions, and airborne particles (sawdust) as we are working in a loud, industrial, sawmill!
  • A Valid driver’s license
  • To pass a hair follicle drug test, a physical, and a background check

What will put you over the top:

  • Previous boiler/kiln experience.
  • A Boiler license.

The Physical Demands of this job include:

Sitting and/or standing for a full shift, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, squatting, bending at the waist, kneeling, walking varying distance, climbing stairs, and listening to equipment.
