Forklift Operator (Stand Up) - 2nd Shift

Description
The Forklift Operator is responsible for completing material movement throughout the facility and grounds by moving, picking, loading, and unloading assets with little or no supervision while operating a forklift. This job will be heavy on loading responsibilities.

- Operates a gas or electric forklifts (sit down and stand up) in the warehouse.
- Operates a forklift and other powered equipment when required and is thoroughly trained and operational; may perform more complex, heavy, or oversized transports.
- Performs daily machine inspections while adhering to established safety procedures.
- Reads and understands Bills of Lading and Pick Sheets.
- Moves product to work areas according to production schedule and daily pick-up sheet where needed.
- Stacks product in storage areas, loads and unloads shipments to and from the trailer(s).
- Uploads full and partial pallets, wrap pallets when necessary, stages product for loading, and checks pallets for accuracy to order.
- Maintains clean and organized aisles or racks storage, consolidates partial pallets when needed.
- Labels, sorts, wraps, and ties inventory products.
- Loads product into containers by hand.
- Completes required paperwork per company standards.
- Communicates with management and maintenance personnel on a timely basis to facilitate maintenance and repairs.
- Complies with company safety policies and maintains a clean and orderly work area.
- Complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) procedures, including timely and accurate documentation of required SQF forms.
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
- Performs tasks with little or no supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of two (2) years or more of related experience in a manufacturing preferred
- Forklift certification required
- Valid state-issued driver's license preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Experience and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well with all levels of employees, whether individually or in a team environment
- Ability to perform more complex problems
- Effectively communicate questions, problems, and reports to co-workers, supervisory, and management personnel
- Flexibility to accommodate unscheduled changes in duties and work overtime as needed
- Must display a positive attitude and work well with all levels of personnel
