Job Description

As a Forklift Operator 1st Shift - Shipping & Receiving, you will play a crucial role in ensuring materials and products are received, stored, and documented to standards. Responsibilities include operating forklifts and material handling equipment with a focus on safety and quality, contributing to the success of our plant. The position offers an hourly rate starting at $21.00, negotiable based on experience and skills.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely to meet business needs.
• Perform inventory functions such as cycle counts, physical inventory, and product checks.
• Load and receive materials from trailers.
• Load, store, and move materials in and out of racking.
• Perform loading documentation in accordance with Hazmat rules.
• Operate and use the warehouse management system/RFID.
• Perform packing, quality checks, and documentation as required.
• Hand stack palletized products to ensure smooth operation.
• Perform changeovers and minor maintenance on equipment.
• Ensure final quality of units before shipment, consulting the Team Leader if standards are unclear.
• Maintain safety and housekeeping in the work area, reporting unsafe conditions.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Follow GMP, SOPs, safety standards, and all policies.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Ability to concentrate, remain alert, and listen for extended periods.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, lift, bend, crouch, reach, and climb for 12 hours.
• Ability to manipulate packaging components.
• Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Compliance with health, safety, and GMP regulations.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Minimum 2 years of forklift experience.
• Safe operation around co-workers and equipment.
• Ability to work around odors and in non-temperature-controlled environments.
• Ability to handle chemicals and chemical products safely.

Physical Capabilities

• Occasionally exert 20-50 lbs of force.
• Frequently exert 10-25 lbs of force.
• Constantly exert up to 10 lbs for moving objects.
• Perform climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, feeling, seeing, and hearing.

Compensation varies based on skills, experience, and location. The starting hourly rate is $21.00, negotiable.
