Job summary

Hood Industries, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator for our Beaumont, MS facility. The successful candidate will operate forklifts to load and unload plywood, and maintain safety in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The company offers competitive pay ($20.00–$21.16 per hour) and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Prior forklift experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
• Ability to perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling.
• Ability to frequently pull and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to successfully complete forklift training and obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload plywood across manufacturing areas as part of a team.
• Evaluate systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, maintaining a safe, orderly work environment.
• Pick, pack, check and load plywood accurately throughout manufacturing/shipping areas.
• Report safety hazards, quality concerns, and production issues to a supervisor.
• Inspect forklifts to determine the need for repairs and report problems to maintenance.
