Job summary

Martin Sprocket & Gear is seeking a Forklift Operator to move materials, load/unload shipments, and support production with accurate inventory and safe operating practices. The role requires operating sit-down, propane, and electric forklifts in a non-climate-controlled shop environment and joining a team focused on safety and efficiency.

The position involves daily material handling, waste disposal, and cross-departmental support with normal weekday hours (7:00 AM–3:00 PM).

Qualifications

• Forklift experience operating sit-down, propane, and electric forklifts.
• Proficient maneuvering forklifts and pallet jacks in tight spaces.
• Capable of reading and following written instructions in English; able to log and report accurately.

Responsibilities

• Transport raw materials to/from work centers using a forklift or electric pallet jack.
• Load products onto motor freight and move finished goods to storage or shipping areas.
• Remove waste materials and dispose of them properly.
• Monitor inventory levels to meet manufacturing demands and coordinate work orders.
• Perform general clerical tasks as needed.
• Keep equipment and work area clean and safe; ensure proper maintenance.
• Adhere to safety protocols and wear PPE; participate in safety programs.
• Collaborate with other departments as needed to support operations.
