Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Forklift Operator for the D shift (Wednesday–Saturday, 6pm–5am) in Kentucky. You will load, unload, and move products using a forklift, and be trained/certified during orientation.

The role requires forklift experience, safe operation, and adherence to Tyson policies. Expect 12-hour shifts, cold storage environments, and PPE provision.

Qualifications

• Six months warehousing experience within the past year.
• Six months forklift driving experience in the past 12 months.
• Rehire rules: Tyson Foods former employees have a 365-day waiting period and can be rehired up to three times.

Job Details: Forklift Operator D Shift Wednesday- Saturday 6pm-5am $23.15

Summary

This position is responsible for ensuring all products and materials are loaded, unloaded, and processed through the warehouse in a timely and accurate manner using a motor-powered forklift. Team members will be fully re‑trained and certified on forklift during orientation.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 Months experience within the past year (12 Months) warehousing.
• Must have 6 Months Forklift Driving experience in the last (12 Months).
• Rehire Requirements: Candidates who have been previously worked for Tyson will have a minimum rehire waiting period of 365 days and are Limited to 3 times of employment.
• Need full range of motion of arms, wrists, elbows, shoulders, neck, all digits, and legs.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time with a sense of balance.
• May work with corrective lenses if vision problems.
• May be provided PPE for additional hearing protection as needed.
• Cold Storage Experience Preferred.
• Must pass post offer health assessment and drug screening.

Approach to shift and duties

During your work shift, which will consist of (12) hours, you must be willing to move around the work area at a fast pace and willing to bend, squat, lift, push, pull, up to (40) pounds. Follow all Tyson Policies and Safety Guidelines. As part of efficiently completing job tasks, a handheld scanner will be used to track products as it is moved around the facility.

Sub Duties (may be required to work any or all of these positions)

• Receiver – Receives product accurately into the building using PIT.
• Put Away – Pulls product that has been received and puts it into the racking. May be required to palletize or split pallets.
• Replenisher – Pulls pallets from racking to replenish pick faces.
• Picker – (Case picker/Order Selector and full pallet picker) pulls product either in single or full palletized form to fill and build customer orders.
• Loader – Loads trucks with product in an efficient manner that will avoid product damage or loss.

Environment

Most of the time will be driving PIT including stand‑up forklifts and reach trucks for extended times in damp and cold environments with temperatures ranging from -5 to 30 degrees Fahrenheit. (Up to 12 hours). You will be provided a freezer suit, hearing protection, gloves, and headwear as part of your personal protective equipment (PPE). Team members will furnish their own boots and must wear either steel or composite toe boots that conform to ANSI 75lbs or more PSI rating with a slip resistant sole that covers the ankles. (Composite toe preferred). Team members will be driving stand‑up Crown PIT Forklifts and Reach Trucks. May be trained on Cherry picker for additional tasks. Standing or walking up to 100% of the time. Proficiency in reading and writing. ability to complete on‑the‑job paperwork and effectively communicate across all management levels.
