Job summary

Boise Cascade Company in Alabama is seeking a warehouse associate to perform routine forklift duties, operate and inspect equipment, and keep veneer and wood stocks organized by thickness, moisture and grade. You will assist in loading and unloading, inspect loads, and report any mechanical issues to the shift supervisor.

The role emphasizes safety, adherence to company policies, and keeping the work area clean while painting equipment, washing windows, and managing waste as part of daily duties.

Responsibilities

• Completes mobile equipment report at the beginning of the shift and notifies the Supervisor about problems.
• Cleans and blows down forklift at the end of the shift.
• Stacks units neatly with proper crossout placement and in proper rows.
• Observes for mechanical problems with forklifts and reports them to the shift Supervisor.
• Keeps shift’s wood separated by thickness, moisture and grade.
• Keeps Dry Veneer warehouse organized.
• Assists in loading and unloading of components as needed.
• Inspects load heights to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Properly marks all loads of veneer.
• Keeps 4x4’ runners picked up off the floor.
• Pushes up floor and warehouse using push blocks.
• Ensures all scrap veneer is taken to hog and hogged up.
• Picks up scraps of veneer with shovel, rake, or by hand.
• Paints various plant equipment and materials (barriers, framework, guards, etc.).
• Washes windows using brushes and rags.
• Keeps the trash dumpster in front of the break room empty.
• Follows Company policies, procedures and safety rules.
