Job summary

Relogistics is seeking a Forklift Operator in Romulus, MI to move pallets and support production across the warehouse. You will operate forklifts, hand-sort pallets, and repair pallets as needed while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, forklift experience (certification preferred), and willingness to work overtime. Prior experience in warehouses or related trades is strongly preferred, along with good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Forklift certification preferred.
• 1-3 years of forklift experience preferred (not required).
• Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing or construction is strongly preferred.
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment.

• Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment.
• Operate forklifts with extreme care, following safety procedures at all times.
• Hand-sort wooden pallets when required.
• Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Overview

As a Forklift Operator, you’ll get to move pallets and other materials through the different areas of the warehouse, supporting production requirements in those areas, as well as loading and unloading customer trailers. Forklift Operators also get to wear many hats within the site! You may also sort pallets by hand and repair damaged wooden pallets by hand in some locations. This role is vital to the success of our Relogistics site!

Hourly Pay:

$19.00/hr

Shift(s):

Wednesday - Saturday 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM

What You'll Do

• Move sorted pallet stacks to appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment

• Forklifts must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times

• Hand-sorting wooden pallets, when required

• Repairing wooden pallets using a nail gun, when required

• Maintain a clean & safe working environment

What You'll Need

• Ability to work in extreme conditions to include, but not limited to, elements, heat, cold, and air particulate

• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for entire shifts of varying lengths

• The noise level in the work environment is dependent on location

• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (eye protection, ear protection is mandatory at several locations, safety shoes)

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision and color vision

• May be required to lift pallets by hand, each weighing between 50 lbs. to 75 lbs
