Job summary

Nestl Purina’s Batavia, Ohio factory is seeking a Forklift Operator to load/unload, pick cases, and stage products. You’ll use digital systems for shipping/receiving and collaborate across the warehouse.

Overtime and off-shifts are possible; onboarding runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, then 6am–6pm or 6pm–6am on a 2-2-3 cycle. The starting pay is $27.85/hr with progression to $31.07/hr, plus a retention bonus of $7,500, a quarterly bonus, health benefits, 401k match, PTO, maternity/paternity leave,

Qualifications

• 6+ months of forklift experience in a warehouse, distribution center, manufacturing, military or related environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently while following shipping instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift in a productive manner, demonstrating initiative while maintaining adequate levels of productivity, utilization, and efficiency.
• Safely load/unload trailers ensuring weight distribution, load integrity, and all shipping instructions are followed.
• Ensure product being loaded has cleared all quality checks prior to shipping.
• Unload product as directed while visually inspecting for damaged and defective materials.
• Maintain proficient knowledge of all finished product and RF systems to facilitate an accurate rotation of stock using the FIFO (First In First Out) method.
• Perform daily maintenance checks on forklifts and submit a written report to shift supervisor on needed repairs.
• Maintain general warehouse sanitation practices and organization including partial pallet consolidation, cycle counts, and maintaining accurate physical inventory.
