Job summary

XPO Logistics, Inc. is seeking a Forklift Operator in Whites Creek, TN to efficiently sort, load and unload freight on a busy dock, using pallet jacks and forklifts and ensuring accurate handling.

You will work various shifts, be 18+, pass basic math, and contribute to safety while receiving competitive pay starting at $28.81/hour plus nights premium; full health, PTO, 401(k) and education support. This on-site role is integral to our dock operations, offering growth opportunities within a

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations, with or without a calculator.
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight efficiently.
• Use motorized and manual equipment (pallet jack, forklift) as required.
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies.
• Work safely and in accordance with company safety policies.
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments.
• Work on a dock not climate-controlled for extended periods.

What you’ll need to succeed as a Forklift Operator at XPO

• Be at least 18 years of age
• Able to do basic math calculations, with and without a calculator
• Availability to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred qualifications:

• Dock or warehouse experience in the transportation industry
• Forklift experience in a freight or less-than-truckload (LTL) environment
• Experience loading and unloading trailers
• Strong attention to detail and desire to succeed

• Experienced forklift operators can start at $28.81/hour
• FAC ONLY : Additional $1.80/hour shift premium for nights
• FAC Shift.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Efficiently sort, handle, load and unload palletized and non-palletized freight
• Use appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including pallet jack and forklift
• Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies
• Work in a safe, efficient manner, adhering to company safety policies
• Use mobile handheld devices to scan and track shipments
• Work on a dock that is not climate-controlled for extended periods

Forklift Operators are required to:

• Lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes and weights (frequently up to 50 lbs. and occasionally greater than 70 lbs.)
• Safely walk and stand for extended periods on a loading dock that is not climate-controlled and may be slippery
• Reach (including above your head), bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat and kneel as necessary
