DEPARTMENT: Operations

JOB STATUS: Non-Exempt

SHIFT: Monday-Friday (Midnight-8am)

PAY: $21.50/hr

REPORTS TO: Service Center Manager

Job Summary

Are you seeking a warehouse position that provides a set schedule, benefits, and competitive pay? CrossCountry is hiring Freight Handlers in your area. This safety-sensitive position involves loading and unloading freight from trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and/or handcarts. Proper training and certification are provided to operate safety-sensitive equipment efficiently.

Essential Job Duties

1. Safely load and unload trailers using forklifts, pallet jacks, and/or handcarts.
2. Use handheld scanners to track and document freight efficiently.
3. Identify, sticker, and stage inbound freight accurately.
4. Verify the condition of freight to ensure quality standards.
5. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

1. At least 18 years of age.
2. Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
3. Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 90 pounds.
4. At least six months of verifiable forklift experience.
5. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Physical Demands

1. Perform frequent squatting and crouching to handle freight.
2. Safely maneuver freight/pallets weighing up to 2,500 pounds onto a dolly or cart, with a force of up to 130 pounds, using mechanical aid.
3. Carry freight weighing up to 40 pounds for up to 20 feet.
4. Help load and unload trailers of freight weighing up to 45,000 pounds with mechanical aid.
5. Open and close cargo doors and climb into and out of vehicles.
