Job Description

We are seeking a Forklift Operator to join our Matthews, NC team. If you have warehouse experience, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work through an 8-hour fast-paced shift, a Forklift Operator position with CHEP could be a great fit!

• $18/hour, Weekly Pay with Direct Deposit
• 1st shift: 5:00am - 1:30pm, Monday through Friday

Role and Responsibilities:

• Operate forklift to move pallets through different departments in the plant.
• Move levers and press pedals to drive the truck and control the lifting apparatus.
• Position forks, lifting platform, or other lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets and transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.
• Supply and retrieve pallets or materials from different departments as needed.
• Make decisions regarding the movement of pallets or materials to maximize efficiency.
• Lubricate and replace liquefied-gas tanks as required.
• Operate forklifts with extreme care, adhering to safety procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in an industrial, fast-moving setting with machinery.
• Previous forklift operation experience.

Preferred Skills:

• Certified forklift operator.

Other Duties:

Additional duties may be assigned based on business needs.

Operate forklift and electric pallet jacks, assist in other areas as needed, and be willing to work in hot and cold environments.
