Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Lufkin, TX is seeking candidates for a warehouse/production role within our North American Steel Group. The position involves operating production equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and actively participating in safety programs to uphold our safety culture.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading materials, following established procedures, and collaborating with supervision and senior operators to meet daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work in all weather conditions.
• Experience with metal sorting is a plus but not required; ability to distinguish between different metals and/or other materials for grading purposes and recognizing safety hazards
• Must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs or more to include carrying or pushing objects up to 100 ft
• Must be able to perform physical tasks including climbing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Must be able to stand for long periods in an industrial environment with exposure to all weather elements.

Responsibilities

• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows safety regulations
• Operates production equipment in accordance with established procedures and guidelines
• Participates in the CMC Safety Programs and upholds the CMC Safety Culture
• Any other tasks as assigned by supervisor
• Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers
• Attend all safety meetings
• Follow directions of operation leaders and senior team operators

Education

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience preferred
