Job summary

Nashville Wire Products is seeking a skilled forklift operator to perform material handling in the plant, transporting items to storage, machines, loading docks, and trucks under general supervision.

Responsibilities include reviewing production or shipping schedules, identifying materials, maintaining accurate counts, performing basic forklift maintenance, and keeping work areas clean and safe. Additional duties or project team participation may be required.

Qualifications

• Reading/Writing: understand written material and record information.
• Basic Math: add, subtract, multiply or divide quantities.
• Attention to safety to prevent injury to others.

Responsibilities

• Transport material or equipment to and from designated areas in the plant.
• Identify materials or products and cross-check with schedules before moving.
• Keep tally of product moved and report counts to planning.
• Perform preventive maintenance on the forklift (propane/battery, oil, etc.).
• Keep work areas clean and orderly; follow safety procedures.
• May perform other duties or participate in project teams.
