Job summary

Chesapeake-Shipbuilding-Corp.-1 is seeking a full-time forklift operator to join our shipyard in Salisbury, MD. The role requires lifting up to 75 lbs, operating telehandler forklifts, and adhering to safety standards on heavy industrial sites.

The position offers shift work from 6:00am to 2:30pm with overtime and weekend commitments as needed, plus competitive hourly pay ranging from $21 to $30, a $2 shift differential, and benefits including health, 401(k), and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of telehandler forklift experience in a construction environment.
• Ability to warehouse machinery safely, including forklifts.
• Physically capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.
• Able to read a tape measure and understand measurements.
• Ability to follow all safety standards and policies.
• Able to multitask and assist the production team when required.
• Able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Move, stack, load and unload products and materials.
• Move raw materials to processing or dispatch areas.
• Ensure goods are stored properly for easy location.
• Load and unload transport vehicles and secure loads.
• Follow forklift safety procedures and guidelines.
• Work indoors and outdoors and report unsafe conditions.
