Job summary

Henny Penny in Eaton, Ohio is seeking a Material Handler to support our production plant. This role operates a forklift to collect, stack, and deliver a wide variety of materials, helping ensure uninterrupted manufacturing processes.

You will follow safety procedures, manage Kanban/JDE workflows, inspect daily equipment, and keep racks, aisles, and supplies organized. The position requires a forklift certification, basic math, and the ability to lift up to 60 pounds.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• 1-3 years of experience in material handling or operating a forklift.
• Forklift Certification required.
• Crane license required for Punch Cell roles.
• Ability to frequently lift or move objects up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize internal customer needs.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
• Ability to problem solve and troubleshoot.
• Knowledge of basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
• Ability to understand manufacturing processes such as Kanban, JDE, BOM viewer, method sheets, etc.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug screen, background check screen, and motor vehicle screen (if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates consistency in practicing all safety procedures.
• Identifies material types and practice proper disposal of scrap.
• Operates the following equipment associated with material handling: radios, scanners, trash compacter, and cardboard bailer.
• Maintains a clean and orderly area ensuring that; aisle ways are clear, part racks are organized, parts are stocked in posted locations.
• Fills out daily check list and completes visual inspections.
• Keeps supplies adequately stocked for team’s daily needs.
• Responds to team request in timely manner.
• Understands how to correctly use the following functions within JDE programing (i.e. sending Kanban cards, tracking Kanban card status and history.)
• Utilizes all programs for communication of supply needs in department.
