Job summary

Goodman Manufacturing in Houston is seeking a Warehouse Forklift Operator to keep operations smooth and safe. You will move loads, perform daily pre/post shift inspections, and help control inventory and paperwork.

The role requires forklift certification, ability to learn PKMS and RF scanning, basic computer skills, and a commitment to safety and reliability in a fast-paced facility.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift Certification provided by in-house training team (40 hrs).
  • 0–1 year forklift experience in a large-scale warehouse preferred.
  • Must pass in-house forklift training.

Responsibilities

  • Sweep and maintain clean warehouse areas.
  • Control damage and inventory.
  • Process factory transfers safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Operate forklift safely in a fast-paced warehouse.
  • Complete daily pre- and post-shift forklift inspections.
  • Submit all paperwork at end of shift.
  • Attend daily safety meetings and follow PPE requirements.

Job description

  • Warehouse up keep thru sweeping and keeping area(s) clean
  • Control damage and inventory
  • Ability to drive forklift safely
  • Ability to utilize the PKMS through RF scanning
  • Ability to complete LTL and Will Calls
  • Responsible for completing paperwork and turned it all in at the end of each shift
  • Ability to complete a daily Pre &Post shift Forklift inspection
  • Attend and participate in daily safety meeting
  • Proper PPE and uniform must be worn at all times during each shift
Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to successfully process (ex: Basic Loading and Unloading) factory transfers in a safe and efficient manner without damage and with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely and work in a fast-paced warehouse – Must pass in-house forklift training
  • Ability to learn PKMS and scanning system.
  • Basic computer skills and data entry
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to use good judgement and strong work ethics and integrity on the job
  • Ability to effectively establish positive working relationships with employees and internal/external customers
  • Ability to understand and follow all Company rules, policies, procedures and requirements especially for safety, quality, delivery and productivity/cost
Experience:
  • 0-1 years recent industrial forklift experience preferably within a large scale high volume warehouse/logistics facility
Education:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Forklift Certification- provided by in-house training team (40 hrs. forklift training)
