Job summary

Pacer Group in Lunenburg, MA is seeking a Forklift Operator for the Shipping Team on 2nd shift (1 PM–9 PM). This role involves safely operating industrial forklifts, loading/unloading trucks, tracking loads, and ensuring accurate shipment documentation.

You’ll work with a team to move up to 25 trailers daily at the off-site warehouse. Attention to safety, use of RF scanners, and basic math are essential. Overtime and weekends may be required; the warehouse is not climate controlled.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Forklift experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Forklift certification valid within last 12 months preferred (we will train).
• Must read/write basic English; able to read instructions and manuals.
• Able to perform basic arithmetic and read a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Inspect forklift daily at shift start; complete safety checklist.
• Safely track and move materials throughout the facility.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and work area.
• Ensure materials are handled to prevent damage during shipment/warehousing.
• Load and unload trucks according to standards and customer demands.
• Use RF scanner for receipts and deliveries.
• Verify counts, quantities, quality, and descriptions of products.
• Assist production lines by delivering products as requested.
• Palletize or stretch wrap units as needed.
• Complete movement paperwork accurately and on time.
• Maintain general cleanliness of warehouse and loading docks.
• Safely replace forklift propane tanks.
• Assist other departments as needed.

Forklift Operator Shipping Team

Shifts: 2nd 1p-9p

Schedule: Monday through Friday with possible OT

Opportunity summary: As Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating industrial forklifts in a fast-paced environment, track loads and/or unload trucks for delivering the units to customers according to their requirements. You will also keep accurate tally of what is shipped to customers. You will be working as part of a team that loads up to 25 trailers a day at our off-site warehouse in Lunenburg, MA.

You will also be responsible for all activities associated with safely operating the forklift in addition to sharing duties with other drivers.

The warehouse is not climate controlled.

How you will impact:

• Inspect forklift daily at the start of the shift ensuring all safety features are operational. Complete checklist documenting inspection.
• Safely track and move materials throughout the facility safely and efficiently
• Responsible for the overall safety and cleanliness of the equipment and work area
• Assure all materials shipped and warehoused are handled in a manner that prevents damage
• Load and unload trucks according to department standards and customer demands
• Use an RF scanner for receipts of returns or deliveries
• Verify all counts, quantities, quality and descriptions of products and materials received, shipped, or warehoused are what is expected.
• Service production lines, delivering products as requested.
• Properly palletize or stretch wrap a unit.
• Timely and accurate completion of paperwork associated with the movement of product & materials.
• Responsible for general cleanliness of the warehouse and loading docks.
• Safely change forklift propane tanks
• Assist other departments as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

• High School diploma or G.E.D.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Previous forklift experience in a high-volume high-speed environment preferred
• Forklift driver certification valid during the last 12 months is preferred, but we will teach you.
• Ability to learn proprietary software programs for the Corrugated Manufacturing systems.
• Must have ability to read and write basic English. Must have the ability to read and interpret documents, comprehend simple instructions, follow maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must have ability to perform basic arithmetic dealing with decimals, fractions, etc.
• Ability to read a tape measure.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all employees and customers, both verbally and in writing
• Must be able to maintain good attendance.
• Must be available to work overtime and weekends or other shifts.
• Physical demand will include the ability to sit for continuous hours, stand, walk, bend, kneel, navigate stairs though the entire shift and drive in reverse.
