Job summary

UFP Industries in Hillsboro, Texas is seeking a Forklift Operator I to move material between inventory, production, and finished goods. You will maintain accurate paperwork and production records, supporting production schedules and material flow on the shop floor.

No minimum experience required, though forklift driving experience is preferred. Candidates should have basic math skills, be at least 18, and be willing to complete forklift licensing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade basic education; GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift driving experience is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques is preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Moves material in process from one station to another as needed.
• Bands, wraps and/or packs finished goods, and labels material.
• Moves finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provides general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Completes pre-shift startup equipment checklist and reports any problems.
• Maintains rough material and finished goods inventory yard organized and clean.
• Completes production records as required and follows forklift policies.
• Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Performs other duties as required.
