Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a Forklift Operator I to move materials between inventory and production, ensuring accurate paperwork and production records while supplying production with needed materials per schedule.

The role requires basic math skills, potential forklift licensing completion, and the ability to work at least 18 years old. Primary duties include organizing inventory, labeling, and supporting bottlenecks on the floor.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9th grade education; HS diploma or GED preferred but not required.
• Forklift driving experience is preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic math and inventory techniques preferred.
• Must complete Forklift Driver licensing process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Move material in process from one station to another as needed.
• Band, wrap and/or pack finished goods, and label material.
• Move finished goods from production area to finished goods inventory yard or warehouse.
• Assist production with bottlenecks and other material needs.
• Provide general preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Complete pre-shift startup equipment checklist and report problems.
• Maintain organized rough material and finished goods inventory yard.
• Complete production records as required.
• Follow forklift rules and Company policies.
• Participate in safety, CI and other programs and meetings.
• Perform other duties as required.
