Located on:

Berens Drive New Lenox, IL

Shift:

Friday - Sunday, 6pm to 6am

Pay Rate:

$21.69 per hour

Shift Differential:

$3.50 additional per hour

General Summary

The Forklift Operator I is primarily responsible for safely operating basic powered material handling equipment (excluding the Order Picker, Turret, and Drexel) for product receipt, storage, and order fulfillment. This role ensures product safety, quality, and legality.

Responsibilities include:
  • Full case order picking for replenishment, customer orders, and packaging components.
  • Pallet retrieval and placement in narrow aisle bulk rack storage systems.
  • Quality control to ensure transaction accuracy.
  • Loading and unloading pallets and cases from trucks and conveyor lines, by hand or equipment.
  • Sorting and building product pallets to meet customer expectations.
  • Using machinery to apply shrink wrap to pallets.
  • Performing pre- and post-equipment checklists.
  • Maintaining storage location accuracy via daily cycle counts and routine inventory tasks.
  • Performing other distribution functions as needed based on business volume.
Ideal Candidate

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to operate powered material handling equipment such as electric pallet jacks and forklifts.
  • Must meet PPE and fall protection requirements.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Strong sense of urgency, attention to detail, and flexibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Team player.

Physical and Cognitive Requirements:

  • Ability to follow policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, interpret information, and perform basic math.
  • Use hands to handle or feel objects.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Visual acuity to perform job functions.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks with full range of motion.
  • Lift/carry items up to 50 pounds.
