Forklift Operator I

Team members safely and efficiently operate motorized forklifts to load and unload trucks, pull pallets of finished product from production lines, and place finished products in the warehouse as directed by the onboard WMS system.

Essential Functions

• Move levers and press pedals to drive trucks and control lifting apparatus.
• Unload and stack materials by raising and lowering the lifting device.
• Plan supply and material requirements by studying production schedules and scheduling deliveries.
• Retrieve supplies and materials by studying specifications, locating, verifying, and securing pallets on trucks, then moving them to production locations.
• Maintain inventory in the production area by tracking usage and reporting discrepancies.
• Clear production areas by securing and moving finished pallets and empty pallets.
• Document actions by logging movements of supplies, materials, and finished goods.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following safety standards, procedures, and legal regulations.
• Keep forklifts operational by following instructions, troubleshooting, maintaining supplies, performing preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs.
• Update job knowledge through educational opportunities.
• Attend work regularly and on time as an essential function.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment, in the role, and managing people/projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience in a similar environment, role, and managing people/projects.

Additional: Experience may include a combination of work experience and education. Proven ability to operate a sit-down motorized forklift and navigate a WMS system.
