Salas O’Brien, a renowned employee‑owned engineering and professional services firm, seeks a full‑time Shipping Operator to support the Los Alamos National Laboratory project in Los Alamos, NM. This forklift‑intensive role moves and ships large, precision components within a busy inventory team.

The successful candidate will verify shipments, coordinate carrier pickups, and protect high‑value equipment while following site safety procedures. U.S. citizenship and background screening are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years in warehouse/shipping/industrial logistics with hands-on forklift operation.
• Forklift certification or site-specific authorization required.
• Experience with shipping documents and inventory software; ensure part traceability.
• U.S. citizenship required for project and ability to pass background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stage materials.
• Prepare outgoing freight shipments and verify part numbers and labels.
• Coordinate frequent material moves and carrier pickups.
• Track shipments and resolve discrepancies with the Inventory Specialist.
• Protect sensitive components during handling and follow safety procedures.
