Job summary

Compact Industries, Inc. in Illinois is seeking a forklift operator to move materials safely within the facility and load/unload trailers as needed. You will follow GMP guidelines, maintain cleanliness, and record material movements using an RF scanner.

A valid driver’s license and 1+ year forklift experience are required; RF scanner experience is a plus. COMPANY provides a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for advancement within a growing team dedicated to safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• One or more years of forklift experience.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or food environment is a plus.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• RF scanner experience is a plus.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Drive a forklift safely, following Company guidelines.
• Maintain warehouse and lift truck cleanliness according to GMPs.
• Correctly receive, transfer, ship or store material, supplies, or equipment.
• Load and unload trailers with product, recycling, supplies, etc.
• Ensure accurate records of material movements are tracked via the RF scanner.
• Utilize RF scanner to find material locations.
• Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expired First Out), philosophy when pulling/placing product.
• Move, stack and organize materials in designated storage areas.
• Communicate with individuals in and out of the department to ensure what task needs to be completed.
• Identify and report any damaged materials or shortages.
• Complete a pre-inspection checklist to ensure the forklift is in proper working order.
• Ensure all items have proper labels if needed.
• Assist in stock takes/inventory counts.
• Assist in audit preparation of area.
• Follow all safety and GMP requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
