Job summary

Georgia-Pacific in Green Bay (Broadway facility) is seeking a Forklift Operator in our Logistics Department. You will operate forklifts and move material through the mill, following safety rules and using a warehouse management system.

This 12-hour rotating shift includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime. The starting pay is $22-24 per hour with a $3.00/hour night-shift premium. Full benefits begin after the start date, with vacation, holidays, PTO, and potential bonuses.

Qualifications

• Speak, read and write English.
• Experience using a computer, tablet, or smartphone.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including days/nights.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile equipment (forklift) with attachments to move material throughout the mill.
• Use a warehouse management system to manage daily jobs.
• Perform housekeeping to keep work areas safe and clean.
• Conduct minor and preventive maintenance on fork trucks.
• Follow safety rules and wear PPE.
• Attend scheduled shifts and training as required.
• Perform tasks like lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing for up to 12 hours in a noisy environment.

Forklift Operators will work a rotating 12-hour shift that includes days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime hours.

Our Team

The Green Bay Broadway Mill manufactures and distributes leading commercial and retail brands of paper products (bath tissue, napkins, and towels). Every day, GP employees and products help maintain a strong, stable economy in Northeastern Wisconsin.

The starting rate of pay is $22-24/HR and will be determined based on experience. A $3.00/hour shift premium will be paid out for all night-shift hours worked (6:00 PM - 6:00 AM)

This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.

What You Will Do

• Operating mobile equipment with various attachments; clamps, fork, prongs, etc., to move material throughout the mill to ensure a smooth flow for production
• Using a warehouse management system to manage the various jobs that need to be completed each day
• Performing general housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards
• Conducting minor and preventative maintenance repairs and tasks on fork trucks
• Adhering to strict safety rules and regulations, including wearing safety Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Attending your regular scheduled shift without violations including tardiness which at times will include participating in meetings and training sessions as required
• Performing tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to twelve (12) hours a day, in a loud/noisy, industrial, non-temperature controlled, high-volume environment
