Job summary

Aerotek in Akron, OH is seeking a Forklift Operator to move materials in a manufacturing and warehouse setting. You will operate sit-down forklifts most of your shift, load and unload trucks, and keep racks and pallets organized while following work orders.

The role requires at least one year of sit-down forklift experience, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and willingness to overtime on a weekly basis. This is a contract-to-hire position with competitive pay and benefits once hired directly.

Qualifications

• One year of forklift operation experience with sit-down forklifts.
• Ability to load/unload trucks and handle materials using a forklift.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
• Willingness to overtime weekly, including Saturdays and Sundays.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down forklifts safely for about 95% of each shift.
• Retrieve materials for machine operators and deliver to production areas.
• Move materials and pallets to support warehouse and production operations.
• Load and unload trucks safely.
• Keep racks, pallets and storage locations organized for efficient flow.
• Follow work orders to ensure correct materials are moved.
• Assist with general material handling as needed.
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
