Job summary

The Oak Harbor Company is seeking Forklift Operators/Dock Workers in California for a role within Oak Harbor Freight Lines’ warehouse operations. Join a legacy that values reliability, safety and efficiency as you handle shipments across multiple locations.

You will operate material handling equipment, log counts, and manage paperwork while supporting various shifts. Ideal candidates have forklift experience, basic arithmetic skills, and strong communication abilities.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent strongly preferred.
Previous warehouse or similar experience preferred.
Forklift experience strongly preferred.
Basic arithmetic, weight and measuring required.
Experience using hand trucks, dock carts, pallet jacks and related equipment preferred.
Ability to communicate positively with customers, co-workers and management.
Experience in an LTL operation preferred.
Basic English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal) required.

Responsibilities

Competent operation of material handling equipment.
Record and note any discrepancies in count or condition of shipments to minimize cargo claims.
Manage paperwork: checks of accuracy and completion of delivery receipts, bills of lading, trailer manifests; count freight; ensure hazardous materials shipments and loading instructions are accurate.
Regroup shipments as needed.
Meet the company's reliability standard including dependability.
Be available to work various shifts during the week to accommodate business needs.
Other duties as assigned.
