Job summary

Trident Seafoods Corporation is seeking a driven forklift operator to move and stack product, materials, and equipment in our Washington facilities. You will operate powered industrial trucks, maintain safety, and follow company procedures in a fast-paced, cold, wet environment.

Candidates should have 3–6 months forklift experience and be forklift certified or willing to become certified; the job offers comprehensive benefits, paid time off, and a strong safety culture.

• Follow Trident policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and other devices to move products and materials.
• Position forks under pallets and transport loads to designated areas.
• Unload, stack, and inventory materials on the work floor.
• Weigh materials and record data on tags or schedules.
• Lubricate and maintain truck; monitor batteries and fuel.
• Work in sub-zero freezer areas with provided PPE.

Responsibilities

Summary:

Drives gasoline, liquified gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.

Essential Functions: (Responsibilities, Tasks, Supervisory Needs)

• Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials and transports load to designated area.
• Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
• Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
• Weighs materials or products and records weight on tags, labels, or production schedules.
• Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device.
• Lubricates truck, recharges/changes batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
• May be assigned work in sub-zero freezer area with proper company PPE provided.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: (Education, Years of Experience, Certifications)

• Three to six months experience driving forklifts.
• Must be forklift certified, or able to become forklift certified.

PreferredEducation & Experiences:

• One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Ability to safely operate powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials.
• Compliance with all Trident policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Work environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet,humidandcold conditions,and moving mechanical parts.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. May berequiredto distinguish shades of color toidentifyabnormalities and/or defects in food products.

Work Ability Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.

The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
