Job summary

US Foods is seeking a Day Forklift Operator in Charlotte, NC who will transport pallet loads from the dock, replenish pick slots, and help maintain inventory accuracy. This role operates in cooler and freezer environments and requires certification for material handling equipment and forklift experience.

Schedule: Monday to Friday starting at 5:30 AM. Pay is $24.10 per hour, with overtime eligibility and a full benefits package including health insurance, retirement plans, PTO, disability

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Material Handling Equipment certification preferred or required.
• Forklift experience is preferred.
• Ability to read and write legibly; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Transport pallet loads from dock to designated warehouse slots using powered equipment.
• Replenish pick slots from reserve inventory to maintain stock levels.
• Perform safety checks on equipment and report issues.
• Record product, equipment and warehouse damages.
• Keep aisles clean and free of debris.
• Work in cooler and freezer environments as required.

Main Ingredients of the Job

• As a US FOODS® Forklift Operator you will be critical to the US FOODS® team and one of the important faces of our organization Your efforts are the foundation that defines US FOODS® success based on our pillars of cultural beliefs, work ethic, collaborative spirit, and service.
• Transports pallet loads of product from the dock to the correct warehouse slot using powered industrial equipment and ensures all pallets are secure in designated slots to avoid damage or injury when the product is selected.
• Replenishes pick slots with products from reserve slots to maintain inventory levels for night shift selection.
• Performs operations and safety checks, including battery, brakes, lift controls, and fire extinguisher.
• Records all product, equipment, and warehouse damage.
• Maintains the cleanliness of aisles by removing any debris from the floor and racks.
• Work continually in cooler (35°F- 45°F) & freezer (-10°F to +10°F), company apparel provided.

What you bring to the table

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Related Experience: Job-related certification for Material Handling Equipment; Prior Selector and/or Forklift experience is preferred.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Able to read and write legibly; basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide); must be able to understand Voxware commands.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $24.10 and $25.24.

As applicable, this role may also receive overtime compensation, freezer premium.
