Job description

Job Description: Forklift Driver

Responsible for correctly loading, moving, and storing finished products to internal and external customers and warehouse facilities. Supplies packaging materials for production and maintains adequate stock to ensure smooth operations. Moves raw materials, supplies, and freight efficiently, with a basic understanding of Injection and Blowmolding processes, including part numbers, weights, and customer requirements.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions
  1. Operate forklift trucks following OSHA and Amcor safety procedures.
  2. Locate and organize materials and products in the warehouse for efficiency.
  3. Transport finished goods from production to warehouse and load trailers as assigned.
  4. Unload, move, and store incoming materials, reporting shortages or damages, using FIFO method.
  5. Sort dunnage and supply materials for production on time.
  6. Accurately record data online, ticket finished products.
  7. Maintain documentation for inspections, incoming materials, and housekeeping.
  8. Understand packaging requirements for domestic and export products, ensuring proper segregation of contaminated or damaged items.
  9. Change product status and rework damaged items as needed.
  10. Perform safety checks on equipment and trailers.
  11. Maintain good housekeeping and complete daily cleanup tasks.
  12. Follow safety rules and use personal protective equipment properly.
  13. Support team members to foster a positive work environment.
  14. Perform additional duties as directed by supervisors.
Authorization
  • Authorized employees may shut down equipment if safety or quality is compromised.
  • Recommend quarantine for out-of-spec products or materials.
  • Report concerns to management without fear of reprisal.
Job Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • OSHA forklift certification provided by Amcor.
  • Previous warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements: This is a medium physical demand job requiring the ability to operate forklifts, stand/walk for long hours, lift up to 60-100 pounds, and perform various physical tasks.

Safety Equipment: Continuous use of hearing and eye protection, gloves, bump caps, and steel-toe shoes.

Environmental Factors: Exposure to noise, chemicals, vibration, dust, fumes, confined spaces, and humidity.

Other Requirements: Ability to recognize and process numbers, make priority decisions, and coordinate hand-eye movements.

Training: Various safety and operational training modules including Lock Out/Tag Out, Bloodborne Pathogen, PPE, and more.
