Job summary

Abbott in Altavista, VA is hiring a Warehouse Operator for the 2nd shift to manage material flow, load and unload with a forklift, and ensure accurate inventory movement through the Cambar RF system.

You will follow ship orders, maintain FIFO, verify lot numbers and quantities, and keep the warehouse clean while supporting daily operations. Experience with RF terminals and shipping paperwork is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Experience with RF terminals and shipping documentation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to designated areas.
• Coordinate timely and accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations.
• Load and unload materials using a forklift.
• Store, pick, or assemble finished goods, verifying item numbers, quantities, release status, and lot numbers.
• Maintain FIFO flow of finished products and keep work areas clean.
• Reconcile inventory records and assist with general warehouse tasks.

Working here will make you feel like you’re part of a family that works together to make a difference and help nourish millions of families around the world.**What You’ll Work On*** Coordinate timely and accurate flow of materials from warehouse inventory to desired areas* Coordinate timely accurate flow of finished products to support shipments to customers and other destinations* Responsible for loading and unloading of material with the use of a forklift* Via use of Cambar radio frequency inventory system, the employee stores, picks, or assembles finished product for shipment* Understand and properly utilize ship orders and associated warehouse paperwork and RF terminals for shipping/receiving finished product.* Maintain proper FIFO flow of finished products. Includes operation of a forklift truck with a push-pull attachment (reach forklift)* Store, pick or assemble finished goods within the warehouse, verifying the item number, quantity, release status, and lot number.
