Job description

Schedule/Hours: Third Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 pm - 7:00 am

Basic Purpose:

Safely use a powered industrial forklift truck (sit or stand) to load and unload trucks trailers; to move raw materials from and finish inventory to proper locations; and to move waste materials to proper location for disposal.

Responsibilities:

The material handler/forklift drivers will relocate palletized loads of materials from the warehouse or from storage trailers to the production areas or to replenish inventory stockpiles. They could remove items from key locations on the plant floor and place them in assigned locations. In addition to being key team members in maintaining FIFO stock rotation, they are critical to the operations ability to maintain a successful pest control program. The careless operation of powered industrial forklift trucks, hydraulic pallet jacks, and electric assist pallet movers can be devastating to other employees, fixed equipment, walls, doorways, and pest control devices. The forklift driver will maintain those records and documents required to assure the safety requirements of equipment operation as well as documents concerning inventory control, and shipping/receiving records. Must follow all GMP requirements as they pertain to safety, quality, and food safety.

Task description:

  • Safely uses powered forklift truck to load and unload trailers
  • Moves and places raw material from warehouse to proper location in the plant.
  • Moves waste materials to their proper location for disposal.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed company provided training and have been issued a company operator’s license.
  • Must have the motor skills commensurate with the essential functions of the job.
  • Must be trained in the proper operation of the equipment.
  • Must be trained in the basics of good storage practice regulations.
  • Must be able to work in a safe manner with serious regard for the quality of the materials being handled.
  • Operators using battery powered pallet jacks must be authorized to do so by the production supervisor and plant’s safety coordinator.

  • Training- properly located face shield and emergency eye wash station.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • New starting wage is $17.50/hour (commensurate with experience and location). *Note that rate could change based on shift schedule.
