Responsibilities

• Follow proper safety procedures
• Pull, transport and stage raw materials to grinding room, ensuring FIFO basis and adherence to instructions
• Remove trash and pallets from grinding room
• Operate machinery safely with a valid forklift license, following company guidelines
• Maintain knowledge of PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock-out/tag-out, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP
• Monitor equipment performance and report issues
• Understand and follow all company policies and procedures
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Duties

• Identify meat by lean percentage, ranging from 50% to 98%
• Handle different meat products, including fresh cut and frozen, high lean content meat
• Read and interpret product labels and tags
• Use Raw Production Line Up Sheet to guide daily operations
• Utilize proper procedures for partial combos and product lot selection
• Ensure correct storage of raw materials in monitored chill and tempering rooms

Duty Steps

• Operate forklift following GSF procedures
• Hold a valid forklift license
• Perform safety and operational inspections before use
• Responsible for safe forklift operation
• Follow battery changing procedures
• Supply raw materials to grinding room according to the line-up list
• Label raw materials with necessary information
• Stage raw and frozen products appropriately
• Ensure all materials have passed testing and are free of hold tags
• Inspect and prepare raw meat for grinding, including odor and foreign material checks
• Coordinate with operators for raw material handling and QA sampling

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for 8 hours
• Work in cold environments (45°F or below)
• Lift up to 80 pounds or more
• Use all senses for raw material inspection
