Job summary

Tripaq Packaging, A Division Of New-indy is seeking a forklift operator to load/unload materials, inspect equipment, and move stock to and from various areas. You will locate stock, deliver to machines, and ensure documentation is accurate and timely.

The role requires forklift certification per OSHA standards, manufacturing experience in corrugated environments, and strict adherence to safety and quality specifications. The position is on-site with typical warehouse conditions.

Qualifications

  • Forklift certification verified per OSHA standards.
  • Experience reading factory masters and following instructions.
  • Experience in corrugated manufacturing preferred.
  • Able to operate and inspect forklifts safely.
  • Knowledge of product quality specifications.
  • Able to lift heavy loads up to 100 pounds and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

  • Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries.
  • Move materials to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.
  • Complete forklift inspections before shifts and report maintenance issues.
  • Locate stock, deliver to machines, and verify quantity accuracy.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to production schedules and optimize efficiency where possible.

Job description

SUMMARY: Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOperation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.Locate stock before the start of the run.Deliver appropriate stock to appropriate machines safely and on timeExamine products to verify conformance to quality standards.Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: production data, machine operational status, safety data, quality data.Duties may be expanded upon and additional duties may be assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONSManufacturing experience in the corrugated industry preferred.Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.Knowledge of various material-handling equipment an asset.Prior work experience as a forklift operator preferred.Knowledge of product quality specificationsKnowledge equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.Maintain a clean and safe environmentForklift certification per OSHA standards.PHYSICAL DEMANDSReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit and use hands to handle or feel.The employee frequently is required to talk or hear.The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.Exposure to wet and humid conditions.Exposure to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.Noise level in the work environment is usually loud.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONSRequired to maintain a current Fork Lift Operator License.OTHER DUTIESPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
