Position Overview

Operate powered industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, and move them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

Responsibilities

• Obtain a copy of the production schedule or shipping order and transport materials or equipment to and from designated areas within the facility.
• Provide raw or WHIP stock to production machines according to the production schedule.
• Load and unload goods from vehicles.
• Move goods packed on pallets or slip sheets around the storage facility.
• Stack goods in the correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
• Check loads to ensure they are secure.
• Stack empty pallets.
• Perform daily equipment checks on forklifts following OSHA guidelines.
• Remove machine attachments and waste materials from machines.
• Examine products to verify conformance to quality standards.
• Dump materials into machine hoppers.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Good math, language, and reading skills; basic computer skills may be required.
• High attention to safety to prevent injuries and promote a safe work environment.
• Follow instructions for operating equipment and keeping records.
• Execute assignments accurately, timely, and safely.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment.
• May be required to use an RF scanner gun.
• Clean driving record and a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license may be required.
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
