Job summary

RRD is seeking a Forklift Driver for 1st shift in Iowa. The role operates Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:00pm, with occasional overtime including weekends.

Starting min rate is $20.00 per hour with potential to earn up to $22.75 while supporting warehouse and production flows. You will drive forklifts and related equipment to move raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, while maintaining accurate inventory and performing safety checks.

Qualifications

• Skilled or willing to train in operating forklift controls and safety practices.
• Knowledge of forklift dimensions, load capacities, and clearance requirements.
• Ability to read work instructions and identify safe paths for moving loads.
• Ability to recognize if a load is balanced and if the forklift can handle it.
• Familiarity with warehouse storage layouts to locate items efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklift to move raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods in warehouse and factory.
• Load and unload materials from semi trailers; maintain accurate inventory and report discrepancies.
• Perform safety checks on lifts, lubricate truck, recharge batteries, and refuel as needed.
• Assist with staging, lifting, and moving pallets, skids, or lifting devices.
• Ensure safety and orderly movement of materials throughout shifts.

Forklift Driver

1st Shift

Starting min rate of $20.00hr

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 7:00am - 3:00pm
• Occasional overtime may be required including weekends

• Drive forklift truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, fork-grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move raw paper materials and in process products and finished products, equipment, or materials in warehouse, storage yard, or factory
• May load and unload semi trailer trucks. Maintain accurate inventory and report any discrepancies
• May load or unload materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device. Perform safety checks on lifts
• May lubricate truck, recharge batteries, fill fuel tank, or replace liquefied-gas tank

Qualifications

• Must be skilled or willing to train in handling controls for starting, stopping, backings, and driving fork lift or clamp truck through aisles in building, up and down ramps, and in and out of railroad cars, trucks, etc.; and, for lifting, lowering, and tilting forks by moving hands, arms, feet, and legs to operate controls
• Must know how high, wide, and long the fork lift truck and its load are, and how much the fork lift truck can lift
• Ability to identify how high and wide a doorway and an aisle must be to drive the fork lift truck and its load; how high and wide the shelf, bin, etc., must be to place the load; and how high the load must be lifted to reach the shelf or bin
• Must be able to recognize whether the fork lift truck is able to lift the load and whether the load is properly balanced
• Knowledge of the layout of the storage area to be able to find and place items without need for detailed instructions

Additional Information

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $20.00 - $22.75 per hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to education, skills, experience, proficient, performance, shift, and location. In addition to the base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include a sign-on bonus, overtime, shift differential, call-in and stand-by pay.
