Trojan Battery Company is seeking a Formation Operator to ensure correct acid level and conduct visual inspections for cosmetic defects. The role emphasizes safety, PPE usage, and adherence to the company quality policy in daily operations.

Responsibilities include handling caps, conveyors, defect checks, polarity directions, cable selection, and rack marking to support efficient production lines. Training and adherence to quality metrics are essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 months–1 year machine operator experience.
• Stand-up Lift / forklift certification.
• Basic computer skills.
• Read and understand basic English.
• Perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Experience in an assembly/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Place caps onto batteries according to battery type.
• Operate conveyors (stack on/off selections).
• Identify defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill).
• Direct battery orientation during off bearing and ensure correct polarity.
• Select the correct jumper cables for each battery type.
• Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing.
• Mark battery racks accurately to aid tender.
• Ensure proper PPE usage.
• Maintain general housekeeping and safety standards.
• Meet all quality and production requirements.

Position Overview Formation Operator assures correct acid level and conduct a visual inspection for cosmetic defects. Areas of Focus Formation Operator complies with all safety requirements and proper use of PPE. Additionally, Formation Operator understands & practices the Quality policy day to day.

Responsibilities Level I

• Place caps onto batteries according to battery type
• Perform the proper function of stacking on / off from conveyors
• Identify all defects prior to filling with acid (1st fill)
• Analyze the correct direction of the batteries during off bearing. (Understand correct polarity of batteries)
• Identify the correct cable (jumpers) to be placed on specific types of batteries
• Demonstrate proper use of table lift during off bearing
• Ensure correct marking on the battery rack to aid Circuit Tender
• Display correct use of PPE
• Perform general housekeeping
• Meets all quality requirements and standards
• Meets all production requirements

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
