About the Role

Position: Forklift Operator at Optimized Process Designs (OPD). Job site: Galena Park, TX.

Responsibilities

• Operate an extended reach forklift to transport materials within the job site.
• Transport pallets, boxes, pipe, and other large objects.
• Interpret hand signals to determine where materials should be placed.
• Unload material shipments upon arrival and stage them in designated areas.

Requirements and Expectations

• Actively participate in a strong safety culture.
• Recognize safety hazards and risks.
• Participate in onsite safety meetings.
• Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures.
• Be aware of changing conditions on an active job site.
• Be on time for the job site each day, ready for work.
• Display a positive attitude and work well with a team.
• Travel as required, including extended periods away from home in remote areas.
• Attend mandatory safety meetings.
• Work shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days per week.
• Meet basic physical requirements.

Physical Demands

• Work in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations.
• Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs.
• Standing for extended periods of time up to 11 hours per day, with breaks every 2.5 hours.
• Use arms, legs, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, and reaching regularly.
• Maintain good hand‑eye coordination.
• Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools.

Qualifications

• At least 1.5 years of experience as a forklift operator.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of experience as a forklift operator.
• Proficiency in operating other large equipment such as skid steers, tractors, tracks hoes, back hoes, or excavators.
• Previous experience in oil and gas construction.
